As a Senior Program Associate, Angela manages Center activities pertaining to a grant from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation's Pathways to Success Program that allows a collaborative partnership between Emory University and New Schools of Carver (an Atlanta Public Schools high school). Through this partnership, Emory is launching a series of strategic activities designed to raise student achievement, specifically in the areas of the mathematics and sciences through teacher professional development, student tutoring and enrichment in math and science, and research in individual and community health.

She has assisted with an NSF-funded G-K12 project that helps teachers in Atlanta metro school districts develop and implement Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in middle and high school classrooms to contextualize science study. Before her work at the CSE, Angela taught middle school math, social studies and literacy in New Orleans, LA.

Angela has a B.A. in both African American Studies and Women's Studies from Emory University. In addition, she holds a Master of Theological Studies from the Emory University Candler School of Theology and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia.
