As a Senior Program Associate, Angela manages Center activities pertaining to a
grant from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation's
Pathways to Success Program that
allows a collaborative partnership between Emory University and New Schools of Carver
(an Atlanta Public Schools high school). Through this partnership, Emory is launching a
series of strategic activities designed to raise student achievement, specifically in the areas
of the mathematics and sciences through teacher professional development, student
tutoring and enrichment in math and science, and research in individual and community health.
She has assisted with an NSF-funded G-K12 project that helps teachers in Atlanta metro
school districts develop and implement Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in middle and high
school classrooms to contextualize science study. Before her work at the CSE, Angela
taught middle school math, social studies and literacy in New Orleans, LA.
Angela has a B.A. in both African American Studies and Women's Studies from Emory
University. In addition, she holds a Master of Theological Studies from the Emory University
Candler School of Theology and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration and
Policy from the University of Georgia.
