Science-minded undergraduates have many decisions to make. What major to declare? What to do after graduation? Should they pursue a postgraduate degree? Go to medical school or graduate school?
We believe that hands-on experiences help students better understand the challenges and rewards of the professions they are considering, while also helping them understand their own strengths. We are committed to support students through mentoring and academic advising. Here you will find links to ECCSE programs that target undergraduates as well as links to many online resources.
HUES (Hughes Undergraduates Excelling in Science)
The HUES program at Emory provides guidance and support for under-represented minorities interested in science and science careers.
SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience)
SURE offers undergraduate students opportunity to conduct supervised research with a faculty mentor. Students receive training in the research methods applicable to their research plan, analyze their data and create written and oral presentations of their results. At the end of the summer, each participant takes part in a formal research symposium.
Student Research
Hands-on learning and scientific research experience are critical components of the undergraduate experience for science students. This section contains vital information about how to find a research mentor at Emory, resources for summer programs outside Emory and some products of research projects from our undergraduate programs like SURE.

The Career Center
We encourage Emory students to take advantage of the services offered by The Career Center. Through their website and LearnLink conference, the Career Center offers advice and listings of internships, part-time jobs and announcements of career fairs.
The ARCHE Consortium
Atlanta-area undergraduates also should be aware that through the ARCHE Consortium, they can cross-register at all partner institutions. This can be an excellent way to enroll in courses that may not be available at their own institution, and to explore research opportunities with faculty at other colleges.
