About the Center for Science Education: Our history, staff, current grants, location, partners and sponsors.

The Center for Science Education began in 1989 as a small initiative within the Emory College Biology Department. In 1999, we became an independent department within Emory College. Our staff collaborates in advancing initiatives funded by multiple grants and we collaborate with Atlanta public schools and the Atlanta University Center partners. Additional resources available at the Center include:

  • An extensive book and video collection on various science and education topics, such as student mentoring, science curriculum development, problem-based learning, etc.

  • Application materials for summer undergraduate research programs and graduate fellowship programs in the sciences.

  • A computer lab, available for curriculum development projects for Emory students and staff, and Atlanta-area teachers, participating in our programs.
