Dr. Sonia Altizer (Environmental Studies, Emory) created a new course with Andrew Davis called ENVS 385 (Insect Ecology and Conservation). In spring 2004, it was offered to 10 students. They covered a variety of skills and topics, including field collecting and monitoring, taxonomy and identification, life history and development, behavior and sexual selection, and conservation of insects. Students collected insects in the field and a class insect collection was created. A class website was also created and can be viewed at http://www.envs.emory.edu/Entomology/.
