Dr. Brooke Bourdelat-Parks and Sonya Greene revamped
the Mendelian Genetics laboratory component. The changes were implemented
in the fall of 2004. Case-based activities were added to the lab
to give the lab a more interactive nature. Prevalence of different
diseases, how to draw pedigrees, how to calculate probabilities
based on whether a disease is dominant or recessive, and genetic
abnormalities are examples of the types of cases that were added.
