Dr. Joseph Justice
(Chemistry, Emory) and Anh Thi Pham (Graduate Student,
Chemistry), are working together on Instrumental Analysis (CHEM
360). This class is being taught in the spring 2005 semester. Sample
preparation, chromatography, mass spectrometry, and electrochemistry
will be just a few of the topics discussed in the course. Problem-based
learning cases will be implemented into the course including cases
on topics like athlete steroid use, drug addiction, toxins, cancer
detection, and bioterrorism. The cases will help the student to
learn critical issues, understand instrumental analysis, and interpret
data. Critical thinking and problem sovling skills will be improved
by the revisions to this course.
