The 1999 Atlanta Public Science Day sponsored by the
Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing
(CEISMC) was a trememdous success. It would not have been
possible without the outstanding contributions made by the various
local museums, colleges, universities, education centers and business
organizations. The overall goal was to provide students with
a positive science experience. Below are a series of letters
sent to the Hughes Science Initiatives of Emory University in addition
to the volunteers at Public Science Day that made the event turn
out so well. Many thanks go out to Jan Burdette of CEISMC, Arri
Eisen in the Biology Department at Emory University, Ronald Johnson
in the Chemistry Department at Emory University, Michael McCormick
in the Chemistry Department at Emory University, Jose De Soria in
the Chemistry Department at Emory University, Nyota Pieh, Thomaseo
Burton, Angela Mosley, Ashante Dodds, Janelle Allison, Andrea Neal,
Stacey Hillock, Linh Lu, Jason Paquin, and Amber Drummond.
