Please review ALL Research Areas: mentors can be listed under multiple categories.

Faculty Mentors - Fill out the online mentor form if you would like to be added to our listing or to edit/update your entry.

Emory Students: Use this list, as well as departmental catalogs, to identify a research mentor. Because the SURE application for Emory students requires a 2-page, mentor-approved research prospectus, we strongly encourage you to meet with your mentor well in advance of the application deadline. Also see our file on tips for finding a research mentor.

Visiting Students: Review this list and enter your top four research area choices in the application form. You are not required to contact potential mentors. If you do, as a courtesy to our research faculty, only contact mentors in whose work you are truly interested.

A productive research experience requires a certain level of background knowledge. For the purposes of our summer research program, it is assumed that you have mastered the introductory science coursework for your degree (or the equivalent). The "Recommended Background" listed next to some fields is not an absolute course requirement and is provided to help you select laboratories where you are more likely to be comfortable and productive.

The Emory University Web Page at http://www.emory.edu/ has a Search option that will allow you to see more detailed descriptions of the work of many of these researchers. We have attempted to provide links to mentor's web pages, if available, however, the absence of a link does not indicate the absence of a web page for that mentor. For a better idea of the research faculty and resources available at Emory, visit the following pages:
