Emory School of Medicine House Staff Assistant Program

The House Staff Assistant program is unique in that it affords students interested in the field of medicine the opportunity to gain first-hand exposure into the daily routine of the physician. Students will be witness to all aspects of this routine as they will become an integral part of the medical team, consisting of attending physicians, resident physicians, and medical students. By accompanying physicians on their daily rounds within the hospital, House Staff Assistants will gain a more comprehensive outlook on the behind the scenes functioning of the hospital and residency program. Students will be able to rotate within three hospitals, Emory University, Crawford Long, and Grady Memorial Hospital. From this exposure, the student will be able to evaluate the different health care environments within the three hospitals, including the different patient populations as well as the various physician to patient ratios." - House Staff Assistant Program Webpage
